Approximately 1,426,713 personnel are currently on active duty in the military consisting of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard.
An additional 1,259,000 personnel are enlisted in the seven reserve components consisting of the Army National Guard of the United States, Army Reserve, Navy Reserve, Marine Corps Reserve, Air National Guard of the United States, Air Force Reserve and Coast Guard Reserve.
